A vocabulary word came to me
In the midst of a dream
Not sure of the spelling
Somewhat vague about its meaning
Puzzling over the word
In my dream I decided to look it up
Committing it to memory
Accessible upon waking up
Opprobrium is a word I would not use
To communicate my thoughts
Known only to a limited number of people
Schooled in erudite language
Strange to have any word visit a dream
Stranger still that it was this word
After checking on the definition
Trying to make sense of it
Why would it come to mind
Surfacing in my inner conversation
That is the question
Lingering unanswered
