If you think there are no coincidences
You might say everything happens for a reason
With a mindset that cannot abide random events
Avoiding the logical steps that lead to atheism
Humans have answers for everything
But every explanation contains a question
Beginning in the child asking why again and again
Until stopped short with I don't know
The ancient mythology now disbelieved
Replaced by feudal forms of worship holding on
As we go about our lives mostly unaware
We exist inside the capitalist mythology
For those uncomfortable with probability
Uneasy with the immense unknown
Craving the certainty of absolute authority
The answer is don't ask questions
But questions are what science is all about
With the methodical approach to ongoing discovery
Leading to ever better understanding
Always with the caveat as far as we know
