The Trumpist insurrection begins in three days
The fascists having announced their intention
To take up arms and take over the capitol city
And the Democrats will do nothing to stop it
Inciting violence and advocating the overthrow
These are crimes when capitalism is threatened
But not when the pretense of democracy is dropped
No politician calls for a mobilization in opposition
Do not think the electoral certification is the end
As if there will ever be a concession speech
As if any rules or laws or oaths will dissuade them
When everything is about holding onto power
The ruling class divisions in this crisis intensify
With their endless imperialist wars they cannot win
With China rising up faster than they can subvert
With Black Lives Matter protests inspiring resistance
And with COVID exposing the capitalist social system
Unable and unwilling to control the rampant infection
Forcing millions to work in unsafe conditions or starve
Now comes the chaotic failure to effectively vaccinate
Images of old people with walkers and canes out in the cold
Waiting overnight in long lines trying to get the vaccine
The suffering and indignity there for all to see
So terrible truly unspeakable to treat people this way
There is a realization growing beneath the surface
In what we were told is the greatest country on earth
That we need to make America what it has never been
With a government dedicated to making everyone's life better
