lifting up

With so many ways to be overtaken by trouble
With the awareness of inevitability that age brings
Sleeping like a baby is not possible
Even if no alarm is set.

Worried, nervous, anxious, apprehensive
Easily becomes its own self-perpetuating state
If you do not get outside yourself
Aware that this moment is alive with now.

The branches swaying in the breeze
Waves rippling the pond disturbing the reflection
All around us everything is moving
Even in moments of silent stillness.

Adjusting to changed circumstances
Challenges the equilibrium of dreams
Balancing fear of falling again
Stretching out our arms to soar above

Tranquil in the realization of lift
Enjoying the glide path of free association
Floating weightless rising above
Becoming invisible as a thought.
