To be open to the need for a complete system change
To make sure that equity is integral to the solution.
Calling out those who are sacrificing our civilization
For the opportunity of a very small number of people
To continue making enormous amounts of money
Pointing out the opposition as the capitalist class.
Calling out those who are sacrificing our biosphere
So that rich people in countries like hers can live in luxury
Paid for by the suffering of the many
Pointing out her alignment with the oppressed.
Speaking truth to power as only the young can do
Telling it like it is expressing righteous indignation
She demands an end to all forms of denial:
How dare you conduct business as usual!
At the beginning of the sixth mass extinction
The young people are starting to understand their betrayal
Waking up to see that their dreams have been stolen
Knowing that change is coming whether you like it or not.
