Today new resolutions come into focus
Like a fractal image of a brain signal.
The next wave is already upon us
Lighting the time particle globe again.

A new decade in our way of counting
As if there was a beginning year
As if time has ten fingers. No matter.
This number system works as well as any.

This year there are parallel resolutions:
Exercise goals and body weight goals in duo.
Individuals encouraging each other:
A simple measure of being good for each other.

In conflict resolution there can be a zero sum game
A winner and a loser. That’s not our way.
In our relationship there’s the us that we both cherish.
He, she and we are in this together.

There’s a full moon this year on New Year’s Eve
That once in a blue moon second full of the month.
What does that mean when the calendar is arbitrary?
It means stop and take notice of the universe.

The limitless expanse of space and time
A modern notion formulated by this thinking creature
Between these ears behind these eyes limited,
Living this mortal life with my feet on the ground.

We are friends and we are lovers.
We have come together after many twists and turns.
It’s not either/or with us. We have it all.
Coming together like this is a form of resolution.

I’m sticking with you, holding fast.
Everything will change of course, we know this.
The time to be born and the time to die frames our lives.
This is our time to be together and enjoy while we may.
