A brief afternoon rest after lunch
Letting gravity pin me to the floor
Flat on my back eyes closed drifting
In the back of my UPS delivery truck
My daily routine in another life
Remembered this afternoon
While enjoying my quiet time lie down
Resting after an active morning
Some people say you only live once
But that's not my experience
As for me there have been many
So I agree with the character who says it
You get more than one life
Words of encouragement spoken
Like a mantra repeated each episode
To some person whose life is changing
The life I have now is easy
Able to come and go as I please
Being mindful of the troubles in other lives
Thankful to be here as I am
To have a loving partner to share my days
This is the life for me I have wanted
Against the backdrop of all of existence
We two have each other to hold close
