For 46 years I have worked in my life
Day after day as if it would be endless
Until the day I die.
Next week I will announce that I’m stepping back soon
Not stepping away altogether
But still a form of retirement.
All spring we have been looking at possible houses
Not to move away altogether
But still a move towards more open space.
This week we reached agreement to purchase
A house that makes us happy
A house for our future life.
That house has a room for my graduate daughter
Perfect for her if she gets her dream job teaching
Third grade 3 miles away.
Can you believe this is happening?
Today everything is good.
Today I can touch what once was fantasy.
